Info
Call Switch vs. Call Flip in RingCentral

RingCentral provides two different ways to move an active call between devices: Call Switch and Call Flip. While both allow you to continue a conversation on another device, they work differently and are designed for different situations.

Idea
Call Switch

Call Switch allows you to move an active call from one RingCentral device or app to another by opening the second device and "pulling" the call to it.

Idea
How It Works

  • Start a call on one RingCentral device (desk phone, desktop app, or mobile app).
  • Open another RingCentral app or device logged into your account.
  • Select Call Switch.
  • The active call is transferred to the new device.

Idea
Use Case

A user is speaking with a customer on their desk phone but needs to leave for a meeting. They open the RingCentral mobile app, tap Call Switch, and continue the conversation from their smartphone while walking away from their desk.

Idea
Benefits

  • Seamless transition between RingCentral devices.
  • Ideal when moving from a desk phone to the RingCentral desktop or mobile app.

Idea
Call Flip

Call Flip allows you to transfer or "push" an active call to another phone number by dialing a preassigned single-digit code.

How It Works

  • Assign Call Flip numbers to the devices you want to use.
  • During an active call, dial the assigned Call Flip digit.
  • RingCentral calls the destination device.
  • Answer the incoming call and continue the conversation.

  • No need to open the RingCentral app.
  • Ideal for users who frequently move between locations.
